The Illini Collector Car Club (ICCC) has been in existence over 50 years as part of the collector car hobby. It began as a group of six car enthusiasts who called themselves the Old Automobile Club. Their first meetings were held at the Gondola Restaurant in downtown Champaign. The club quickly became an affiliate of the Horseless Carriage Club of America (HCCA) as the Champaign Chapter of the Central Illinois Region, of HCCA. But a requirement to have at least five members who owned brass era cars (pre-1916) eventually became too restrictive, so the club left the HCCA and became the ICCC in April-May 1982. The Tuesday monthly meetings have been at the Urbana Civic Center since the early 1970s. Today, like in 1961, anyone with or without a collectible vehicle can be members and participate in our meetings, shows, displays, tours, and cruises. The club list of members cars includes well over 40 different makes. Together we are still sharing our passion for collectible vehicles and preserving automotive heritage.
